Wizard of Oz Properties

Clayton's career in real estate can be traced back to the late 1980’s (geez he's old).

His passion for real estate began back in the late 80’s with his grandfather and two brothers. During his high school and college years, Clayton and his brothers were the construction / renovation crew for their grandfather and his friend that owned many rental properties throughout Wichita.

They learned the trades from their grandfather – roofing, pouring concrete, plumbing, electrical, painting . . . every aspect of repairing and renovating a house.

Here they are finishing renovating one of their first houses located near Broadway & Murdock (summer of '86).

They had the best time working together, fixing houses, wrestling during breaks, and witnessing the tenant’s happy faces once completing a project.

Here is grandpa (Al) and grandma (Sue) on his birthday in 1990.  His brothers will admit that grandpa was the brains of the operation.  They are still scratching their heads on how grandpa stayed so patient with them.

He was proud of his first trailer to haul gear, wood, parts, paint, mowers.  But, he is not proud of those short shorts.  No, he does not have the trailer nor the shorts anymore - he traded both in for larger sizes.

Many years later, he is back doing what he enjoys.  Hopefully, he will be able to pass along some of the trades to his son and three daughters (and pet chicken).
